International Council on Pastoral Care and Counselling 
Congresses

The Council has overseen the running of International Congresses every four years.
There have been 8 so far:
  1. Edinburgh, Scotland August 1979 Theme: The Risks of Freedom
  2. San Francisco, USA: August 1983 Theme: Symbols and Stories in Pastoral Care and Counselling  
  3.  Melbourne, Australia August 1987  Theme: Pastoral Ministry in a Fractured World  
  4. Noordwijkerhout, The Netherlands August 1991  Theme: Pastoral Care and Context  
  5. Toronto, Canada  August 1995 Theme: Babylon & Jerusalem: Stories for transition in a strange land

    There have been no reports in the internet, nor pictures of these ealier congresses.  
  6. Accra, Ghana August, 1999 Theme: Spirituality and Culture in Pastoral Care and Counselling

  7. (The Bangalore Congress has started a new period of reporting via internet)
    Bangalore, India     August 2004 Theme:     “Global Economy:
                                                                                    A Challenge for Pastoral Care, Counselling and Religious Traditions

  8. the 8th ICPCC-Congress 2007 in Southern Poland, is coming up:
    "We have this treasure in earthen vessels"
    Tuesday August 7th - Tuesday August 14th.

    There has also been a special pre-conference (first time in ICPCC history!)
    to this 8th ICPCC-Congress
