Working Methods of the Congress

Devotions and Services
Each morning there will be devotions on the theme of the day led by members of various denominations and cultures.
Services are part of the programm; also there may be services held by participants in the adjacent Catholic Parish Church

Lectures (with discussion)
The lectures will give inspiration and material for use in discussion according to the themes of the day

Presentations, discussions and case studies
These presentations combine practice of care and counselling with theoretical backgrounds. Important issues are discussed by representatives of different continents.

Meditation
Meditation on biblical texts will reflect on the theme of the Congress and deepen the spiritual meaning of care and counselling.

Workshops
In the workshops a variety of topics will be dealt with. Experts from different countries will present their work and be open for discussion in small groups.

Small Groups
The members of the small groups (of about 10 - 12 persons) have the chance to share, to tell stories and to build an intercultural community during the Congress - and may be beyond. The small groups will use a narrative approach. Facilitators will moderate the groups. The groups stay together during the whole Congress. The Planning Committee will combine the persons to guarantee an intercultural composition. The main language of small groups is English, but in each group will be German speaking people and translators.

Market Space (responsible: Johanna Wittmann)
Materials - publications - booklets - flyers etc of centres, institutions and idividuals are presented. The materials are exposed in the morning, during market time there should be representatives of institutions ready for questions and dialogue. All participants are requested to bring materials with them.

Book Store (responsible: Johanna Wittmann)
All participants are requested to bring their own books or important new books from the field of care and counsel-ling for presentation and sale.

ICPCC Council Meetings (responsible: Ursula Pfäfflin)
There will be several council meetings during the Congress. The president of ICPCC will invite for them.

Excursions (responsible: Adrian Korczago)
Two excursions are planned: One day to Wroclaw and one to the Giant Mountains (more explanations in the pro-gramme).

Psychiatric Consultations
There will be several psychiatrists available who are ready to offer consultations on psychiatric and therapeutic issues and cases. Please approach this therapists if you have any questions.

Guided tours on the history of Krzyzowa
Four groups will have the chance to hear about the interesting history of Krzyzowa as a place of resistance against fascism and as a place of reconciliation.
